Documentary sensibilities,
applied to your wedding day.

I spend my working life directing documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4, telling real stories about real people. I bring those same instincts to your wedding. A look across the room. A quiet smile when nobody else is watching. The small, honest moments that make up the real story of your day.

I'm there to fade into the background and capture what actually happens, the way it actually feels. The full story of the day, from the nerves in the morning to the chaos on the dance floor. Your wedding will be one of the best days of your life, so I want to make sure I capture it without getting in the way.

Based in Bristol and London, available across the UK and beyond.

Full Day Coverage

From preparations through to the last dance. I stay as long as the story needs telling.

Documentary Approach

The little moments that tell the real story. A look, a smile, the bits you didn't even know were happening.

Your Gallery

A curated set of images delivered in a private online gallery, ready to print and share.

Pricing

Documentary wedding photography — Bristol, the South West, and wherever the day takes us.

I shoot quietly. No long lists of posed group shots, no orchestrating your day around the camera. I'm there to catch it as it actually happens — the moments between the moments — and hand you back something that feels like the day felt.

The Full Day — from £2,200

Ten or more hours, from the morning's quiet preparations through to the evening's celebrations. Full documentary coverage, a private online gallery of 700+ edited images, a licence to print and share freely, and a Stories By | Voicebook included as standard. Most couples land between £2,200 and £2,500 depending on hours, location, and the extras they add.

Add to any collection

Hand-designed album — from £495

Designed by hand, not ordered from a template. Alongside photography, I'm a graphic designer — so your album is sequenced like a story, with real typographic care. Heavyweight, linen-bound, made to be passed around for years.

Cinematic wedding film — from £1,500

Built on my background as a broadcast documentary director and cinematographer (BBC, Channel 4, Netflix, Apple TV+). A short, filmic edit of the day — most couples pay considerably more to book a separate film team.

Extras

Medium format film set — from £295

Vintage film photography with a depth, grain and colour digital can't replicate. One-of-a-kind frames shot alongside your digital coverage. Developed, scanned and included in your gallery.

Medium format film example

Polaroids & disposables — from £195

Polaroid and disposable cameras on your tables for guests to pick up and shoot. The fun, unfiltered moments you'd never get otherwise. Developed, scanned and added to your gallery.

Pre-wedding / engagement shoot — £295

A relaxed hour or two to get comfortable before the day itself.

Additional shooting day — from £750

E.g. a welcome dinner or day-after coverage.

Stories By | Voicebook — included free

We send you beautifully printed Voicebook cards before the big day. Just open them up and lay them out on the tables. Guests scan the QR code, speak into their phone, and their message is automatically added to your Voicebook. No app, no sign-up.

Every recording stays locked until your book is ready, so it's all a secret until you're flicking through your photos and hearing the day come back to life. Or set up our vintage handset Voicebook — guests pick up the phone, speak, and their message is recorded.

Questions
I'm based in Bristol and shoot all over the South West as standard — but some of my favourite weddings have been the ones worth travelling for. I've shot UK-wide and abroad, including in Italy, and I'm always happy to go where the day is. Travel within 50 miles of Bristol is included; beyond that I'll add reasonable travel (and accommodation for early starts or far-flung venues), always agreed with you up front so there are no surprises.
Full-day documentary coverage starts at £2,200. That covers me for the whole day — from the quiet of the morning through to the evening — plus a private online gallery of 700+ edited images and a licence to print and share them freely. Most couples land between £2,200 and £2,500 depending on hours, location, and the extras they add.
A 25% deposit secures your date — that's the only upfront cost, and your date isn't held until it's paid (dates go on a first-come basis, so it's worth not sitting on it). The remaining balance is due four weeks before the wedding. I'll send a simple contract alongside the deposit invoice so everything's clear and in writing.
For couples who want something with a bit more soul, I shoot a handful of frames on a medium format film camera alongside the main digital coverage. Real film, hand-shot, properly developed and scanned — the grain, the colour, the slight imperfection that digital can't fake. It's a small set of beautiful, tactile images that sit differently to everything else in the gallery. From £295.
Documentary, through the day. I come from a background as a broadcast documentary director and cinematographer — BAFTA-nominated, with credits across BBC, Channel 4, Netflix and Apple TV+ — and I bring that same instinct to weddings: read the room, anticipate the moment, stay out of the way. Minimal posing, no endless group-shot lists. I'm there to catch the day as it actually happens and hand you back something that feels like the day felt.
Yes, and I'd recommend it. A relaxed pre-wedding or engagement shoot (£295) gets you comfortable in front of the camera and lets us get to know each other before the day itself — which always shows in the final photos.
You'll get a small preview within a week, and your full edited gallery within four to six weeks. Albums and film scans follow once you've had a chance to choose your favourites.
I shoot on professional dual-card cameras (so every frame is backed up the instant it's taken), carry backup bodies and lenses, and I'm fully insured. It's the kind of thing you shouldn't have to think about — so I've thought about it for you.
